You're not alone — this change in Power BI sharing behavior after a recent update has caused confusion for many, especially in organizations using Power BI Pro licenses

Option 1: Use Microsoft 365 Groups for Access

    • Make sure the SharePoint site members are part of a Microsoft 365 group.

    • Assign that group access to the Power BI workspace or report explicitly.

    • This avoids having to grant access one by one.

Option 2: Upgrade to Power BI Premium (Per Capacity)

    • If you switch to a Premium Capacity workspace, then:

      • Users only need a free license (no need for Pro).

      • Embedding becomes more seamless — you can share with a broader audience without individually assigning access.
