Hi All,
I am new to sharepoint and power bi integration, so need your suggestion and help. I have multiple sharepoint sites for different departments with restricted access to department members. I need to take the metadata information from the library settings : - Created Date, Modified Date, Retention Label, Expiry Date for each site and show it in a power bi report.
Have few basic question on feasibility:
1. If I have mulitple folders within each site, Can I capture the metadata details of files from both root and subfolder in a single dataset? If yes, then how?
2. How do I capture the version detail of the document?
3. And then, we need a consolidated power bi dashboard that captures metadata information from all the sites and put it in a single place.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Pallavi

1. yes. Depending on the number of sites and the number of files this may be a slow process
2. You would use Grah API calls for vversions
3. Sure, but why duplicate the work that is already done by Sharepoint? What is your next step once you have all that data?

Thank you so much @lbendlin for your response. I was not aware that we can Graph API call with sharepoint. Thank you. Would check this and get back.
Thanks,
