Share point folder & Share point online

 Hi All,

 

I have requirement to import excel files from Sharepoint Site to Power Bi Desktop. When i am importing the data from Powerbi, i am seeing three different sharepoint import methods. Here my doubt is when i do import from any of this three, i can perform automatic schedule refresh(No On Premisis data gateway needed) and please explain what is the difference between share point folder & share point online list and at what scenarios i need to select?

    prakash11440278 Yes you will be able to refresh without a gateway. You won't need to install a gateway to set up a scheduled refresh. The SharePoint List is an object in SharePoint, (Similiar to a table of data I guess). A folder is what you want to connect to because it will contain the excel files within that folder, so it will allow you to choose everything within the folder.
