Share a report built on another report's dataset

Good afternoon,

I have some reports (A,B,C) on different topics shared on PBI Service. Recently I have created another report D that used Power BI datasets of these reports (A,B,C) as a data source. Finally when I have tried to share the D report I had this error.

The dataset settings shows no connection to any data source and gateway is not active.

The gateway activation leads to another error. It works perfectly with other reports but with this one it does not.

Checking for the dataset components shows that all sources are there and work correctly.

What can I do  to resolve the problem and share this report?

Thanks @lbendlin!
I found another solution. Not sure if that is the most effective but it works.
1. I have deleted all the connections with other reports
2. Shared the final report just with Excel datasets connections.
3. Added gateway connection that was successfull now.
4. Added connection to other reports
5. Updated the final report that was already shared.

The only doubt that remains is why gateway connection does not work while I use Excel and PBI datasets together from the beggining.

That's not an error, it is an awkwardly worded notification that you need to wire your new dataset in.

- if you only connect to someone else's dataset then you won't need a gateway.

- if you do need a gateway for whatever reason you need to make sure that gateway is up and running. In the case of a personal gateway that means the gateway app must be running on your PC and the PC must be on.

the new report is connected only to my datasets. The gateway is running on my PC and is on. It works perfectly with other reports.
How do I create the connection?

In that case you should not need a gateway. What connection is it complaining about?

The report update requests a gateway.

The gateway is updated and is active on my machine. But the report does not connect to this.
Also I have this warning.

Rebuild does not work.

Checking for datasets shows all the datasets disponíveis.

I am really confused. I would not like import default data files to the final report and do all the calculations that exist already in the reports connected.

Create a test report that connects to one of the three upstream datasets.  See if you can publish that.  Repeat with the other two.  That will (hopefully) tell you which of the datasets it is complaining about.

After the test I have found that datasets from other reports work correctly.
What goes wrong is connection to Excel files imported that I have in the same folder with the report. This connection prevent the report from being shared.
Trying to solve why.

Move the Excel file to a SharePoint document library or OneDrive and use the SharePoint Folder connector.

Welcome to the wonderful world of "Allow cloud data sources to be refreshed through this gateway".  There be dragons.
