Share Report via Teams link Personalized views

Hi everyone,

I have some reports with default views. Sometimes I need to share that very same report page, but with a particular filter.
Right now I'm using chat in Teams but I noticed that is only available in the app, and not in the Reports nor in the new App (the one in preview).
Is this something that I can achieve in another way, or are you planning to put this feature also in the new app?
Besides filters, I also use it a lot when sharing personalized views (using the Personalize feature) by adding or removing KPIs and dimensions.

Thanks

Edit:
The goal is to share the same reports, with the personalization or even filter already applied. The only way I found is through "chat with teams", so my question is: Is there another way to do it? If not, for sure I will propose it 🙂

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

Hi @mgiardini , Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

At the moment, the Personalize visuals feature in Power BI and Fabric is per-user only. When someone customizes a report using Personalize (adding or removing KPIs, changing visuals or applying filters), those changes are stored in that individual’s profile and aren’t shared automatically with others. The only reason it worked through Chat in Teams was that Teams generated a snapshot link of your current report state, basically a one-time filtered view that others could open.

In the new Fabric App (preview), that Teams integration isn’t available yet. Microsoft hasn’t announced that it’s deprecated, just that the new app doesn’t currently include that feature. There’s no other native way today to share your exact personalized view with others.

If you need to share the same view, you can recreate it using bookmarks or URL filters, both of which can be shared safely. Bookmarks let you capture filters and layout changes as an author so everyone sees the same view. URL filters are simpler and let you share the same page with filters pre-applied.

If this feature is important to you, I’d recommend submitting or voting for it in the Fabric Ideas board, which is how these requests reach Microsoft’s product team.

Hi @mgiardini

As far as I am aware it is not possible to create default views for different users in a single report. Only the user can create their own view which will be kept when they open the report the next time. You can vote or create an idea here. https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Fabric-Ideas/idb-p/fbc_ideas

Hi GilbertQ,

thanks for the answer but I'm not sure to explained well the needs. Right now every user can modify a view with the personlized function (using a pre-defined prespective) and, with the button, chat in teams, shared this "modified" version with other users.
Right now this works only in reports inside the App. My questions are: Is there another way to do that? If no it's something that soon will be deprecated?
