Share Gateway

i have a question regarding gateway. i have setup the gateway and manage to connect it in power bi services.

I'm using my credential in data source setting to access the database. If i share the gateway with other people, can they get access to the datasource even they have restriction access in the database.

For example. User A is only have restriction permission to view data from his own region. However if he use the gateway, is he able to

How about the result after you follow the suggestions mentioned in my original post?Could you please provide more details about it If it doesn't meet your requirement?

@Anonymous You need to apply the filtering of data from the report models, not the gateway. Unless you are using Live Connection (where the user creds are passed to the SSAS model) or you have RLS in the report, the user you have set up in the gateway is the user that the end users assume permissions on and will see the data that user sees.

We have RLS in the main report and SAP BW as the data source. i have the full access to the data source and user will have some restricted view by their region. So if they create a query in the data source and use the gateway setup by me where i have the full permission, will they get full data since they use my gateway?

Based on my test, if user A use the exactly same query in Power BI Desktop they still need to enter the credentials to use this query and publish to the Power BI Service, But we  suggest you do not set them as a user of gateway(in case they any way they can publish success and use the gateway to get all data).If you just want to share report with only view premission, they can still get the refresh if the owner of gateway has set the scheduled refresh.
