Setting up alerts in PBI
Hi all,
We want to set up a number of alerts based on the values of a measure for different locations.
Those values currently are in a chart on a report (not a dashboard):
Where the value for Location 1 is 3, the value for location 2 is 1, etc.
Ideally, we would want to have an alert for each location, with a threshold for that location. For instance:
- Alert User1 and User2 when value for Loc1 goes above 2.5
- Alert User3 and User4 when value for Loc2 goes above 1.5
etc.
How can this be best done? Would be need to use other platforms, like Power Automate?
I've read on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/service-set-data-alerts that "Alerts can only be set on tiles pinned from report visuals, and only on gauges, KPIs, and cards."
1. The visual above is not one of those three. Does that mean we would have to create separate cards with each a filter visual for the location?
2. Would we necessarily have to pin those cards to a dashboard?
3. Any other options?
Many thanks

You need (separate) dashboard tiles for that, one for each scenario. Or you can do the monitoring in the data source? Power BI is a reporting tool, not a production management tool.
