Setting Alerts in PowerBI Services
Hello, I am setting up some alerts on some of my cards in PowerBI Services. I noticed that I must set it as "at most once per hour" or "at most once per day". Is it possible to make it "at most once per x minutes?".
Also, I noticed in the documentation that the alerts do not work with streaming data sets created on services. But it says it does work if I connect to a SQL database server via PowerBI desktop using DirectQuery, and then pin that card to a dashboard on PowerBI services. Does anyone have any experiences on this part working?
Thanks!!!

To the best of my knowledge no on the first question.
I do not have much experience with the alerts on DirectQuery but everything you state is my understanding. - v-yingjl

Hi Anonymous ,
- It it not available to set alerts at minutes in power bi service currently. Only "at most once per hour" and "at most once per day" are supported in alerts.
- About 'it does work if I connect to a SQL database server via PowerBI desktop using DirectQuery, and then pin that card to a dashboard on PowerBI services. ' , I have not seen that in microsoft offical documents, but I think there is no relationship between direct query and alerts because alerts can only be set on tiles pinned from report visuals, and only on gauges, KPIs, and cards. Regardless of which data source and connect mode I use, the alerts will be set as long as I use cards, KPIs, gauges and pin them to dashboard.
Please refer these microsoft documents about alerts in power bi service:
