Services refresh issues - Not able to modeling the dataset - Memory error: Memory Allocation failure
I habe a problem with Power BI services refresh & measures tables.
Services is not able to modeling the dataset properly. Let me explain you how I get this conclusion:
I took one dataset and:
1- refresh it with power bi desktop: everything OK, it works
2- I publish it on my workspace, and sincronized from the services: Everything OK, it works
Now we start with my problem:
3- The same dataset & pbix file than point 1 & 2, but with the only following modification: I moved a measure from my sales table to a measures table and I create inside this measure table a folder.
Now:
4- I refresh in my power Bi Desktop: Everything ok - it works,
5- I publish it in my workspace and I try to refresh and like a hour after, it crash. Publishing works but automatically, services try to refresh it and after 1 to 2 hours, it crash with this message: "There was an error when processing the data in the dataset".
Showing the details:
| Data source error: | Memory error: Memory Allocation failure . Try simplifying or reducing the number of queries. |

Anybody else have this problem? I don't know how to solve this problem.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi clozano ,
Do you have a premiumn license or the workspace that hold the report is in shared capacity? It would appear that the dataset might be over the 1GB file size or when it is refreshing the data because of too many queries it is running out memory.
I can't reproduce your issue, Would you please refer to :https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Memory-error-when-refreshing/td-p/80919 and https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/ten-techniques-optimising-memory-usage-microsoft-power-dejan-pajk
