Hi masplin ,

Based on the error message, the reason that cause this issue is the Privacy Level setting for this data source when you configure the data source in the gateway page.

Please set the privacy level in power bi service which should be the same as in the desktop in data source settings.

Here are the simliar issues you can also refer, hopes to help you:

  3. Information is needed in order to combine data error even with same Privacy Levels in Desktop/Server

    I tried that because tht's what error suggested, but it was actually same as my other error. Badstaging of extenral data queries as solved by Microsoft support on this thread

    seems if the model refreshes in desktop but not in service this is the number one thnig to check

    Pity error messages areso misleading and unhelpful
