Semantic model displays empty tables from Dataflow

Hi Community,

I created a Dataflow in Power BI Service and confirmed that it shows data correctly in the Power Query Online editor. However, when I build a Semantic Model based on that Dataflow, the tables appear with headers but no rows.

Has anyone run into this issue?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi @DataVitalizer , Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.

This is most likely a credentials/permission or refresh materialization issue. Re-enter the Power BI Dataflows credentials, fully refresh the dataflow, then refresh the semantic model. If it still shows headers only, materialize the entity (create a staging table), re-link it to the model and if that fails export/import the dataflow.

If none of that works, I suggest collecting the refresh logs and opening a Microsoft Support ticket. Below is the link to help create Microsoft Support ticket:

Has both the dataflow and semantic model refreshed successfully?

Hi @DataVitalizer

Two questions from my side:

- Did your dataflow got saved and refreshed without errors on the first go?

- Is this a Dataflow Gen2? If yes, did you give proper destination before saving & refreshing it?

Hi @DataVitalizer

As @Pragati11 asked, some screenshots and more details would be helpful for us to help.

One thing that comes to mind for me, has the dataflow successfully refreshed at all?
