Semantic model data source after Dev to Prod deployment

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2 Power BI files (one acts as a semantic model and the other as the report/dashboard) that I have published in my dev environment.

I have now deployed the via Power BI deployment pipeline to de Prod environment.

My current issue is that the prod environment semantic model should connect to the production data source instead of the development data source.

I have trying going to Semantic model>settings>Gateway and cloud conections and there map to create a new conection, and while the new conection is created it is not assigned to the semantic model.

Can someone please give me a hand with this?

Many thanks

Create a parameter in your semantic model that defines the connections.

You can then set up parameter based deployment rules specifying the connection to use in that environment.

Hi,

I actually found a solution directly in the Power BI deployment pipeline, where you can edit values without needing to create the parameters. One of such being the conection to the database, so really no need for all of the parametrization above if you are using Deployment pipelines

I couldn't get that to work. I created this rule, but it doesn't seem to change the data source
