We have shared semantic models (datasets) that are used for self service reporting. Is there a way to capture the usage of the semantic model?
Eg - If someone opens a shared semantic model so they can create their own report, Is this opening of the model captured in any usage statistics?
thanks

Hi. You might be able to get that data but with the Power Bi Rest API only. Using the get activity events: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/power-bi/admin/get-activity-events
You can get the last 30 days events of the Power Bi Tenant. There you might find "create report" operation showing which dataset/semantic model is using. That way you might insights of the usage for creating new reports. Then you might track the View report of those created from the dataset.
I hope that helps
