Semantic Layers in Power BI Embedded Workspace A1 Not Refreshing

We changed a workspace to Power BI Embedded and the semantic layers are not refreshing. A third party turned on the A1 embedded capacity. Not entirely sure the Azure AD process so they may have left something undone.

I do have XMLA endpoint enabled. We are in import mode for semantic layers.

All the semantic layers are under 1 gb limit pro licenses workspaces required. We are using semantic layers live connected to their reports.

I loaded a tiny 149mb semantic layer and it spins and spins.

Here is an example of the error:

I ended up taking the original workspace back to Pro licensing, elaving the semanti layer there, and copying the reports to an embedded workspace in A1.

Users beware semantic layers that run in an ordinary Workspace under 1gb may not be able to in an a1.

The reason this is happening is because when you turn on embedded capacity, you are limited in the amount of memory you can consume In your example above an A1 can only consume 3 gigs of memory. In your example, when you add up your consume memory, your memory limit and the database size before execution, it's over their 3 GB limit and that is why it is erroring out. What I would suggest is to remove the power behind bedded from your app workspace and everything should go back to normal.

Does that 3gb act as a limit on each activity? If I set a semantic layer to only refresh on query at a time, shouldn't it come under 3gb?

Do you mean live connect reports from a semantic layer in another woskpace not embedded?
