Hello Community,
I am currently working on setting up an on-premises connection for a dataflow in the data gateway, and I’ve encountered a challenge with the authentication method. The only available option is OAuth 2.0, but I’ve noticed that the OAuth tokens expire frequently, which disrupts my dataflows and necessitates manual re-authentication. The data source for the dataflow is an Oracle database.
I am looking for solutions or best practices to make this authentication process more dynamic and flexible
Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your help!
Hey @ogureisuo ,
this my very first time I see someone creating a connection within gateway to a dataflow.
I used some dataflows as well but have never created a specific connection to them.
It is a native Power BI Service item and Service knows that and Service knows your user during the LogIn process and Service handles it automatically.
So from my persprective there is no need to create a connection to a dataflow.
But you still need a connection to your origin source.
Maybe you can provide more info what is the reason for creating this conncetion.
Regards
Hi @ogureisuo
What I have recommended in the past is to create an organizational account where the password does not expire so that you can then use this account in your data source connection.
