Hi All,
First Problem:
Background: My company has a fabric environment. We have fabric lakehouse where we build and connect our reports/dashboards to in Power BI service. We have a SP that run the tables and refreshes all the models in the background every day without any issues.
Issue: The issue i'm having is I have created a scorecard (within the same workspace as the successful models) that connects to multiple reports picking the individual metrics. There are many reports and many KPI's within this scorecard, about 40 KPI's. The scorecard doesn't update automatically. The connection are all successful and have no issue connecting to the reports. I have tried added this scorecard to our SP refresh that will refresh all the models but not the scorecard. I have added in the settings automated refresh and this still doesn't work. I have clicked the top right refresh icon and that doesn't work. I have to manually click on edit connection and then refresh connecton which does work but a pain.
Does anyone have any idea why this is occuring, any similar issues and anything that could work to resolve this and allow me to have the scorecard to refresh automatically?
Second Problem:
I am unable to create a usage metrics on the scorecard by the usual click three dots and click create usage metrics that you do on a normal model, the option isn't there. I would like to see how many / who used the scorecard. Does anyone know how this can be done?
Thank you all for this.
JJ.

Hi @JayJayBee
You're encountering two primary issues with your Power BI scorecard: automatic updates not functioning as expected and the absence of usage metrics tracking.
1. Automatic Updates for Scorecard Metrics
It's been observed that Power BI scorecards sometimes fail to refresh metrics automatically, even when underlying reports are updated as scheduled. This issue has been reported by multiple users, indicating a potential systemic problem. While manual refreshes via the "Edit" > "Connection" > "Refresh" pathway are effective, they are not practical for managing numerous metrics. Currently, there isn't a definitive solution to enforce automatic refreshing of scorecard metrics. It's advisable to monitor the Power BI Community Forums and official Microsoft updates for any forthcoming fixes or workarounds.
2. Tracking Scorecard Usage Metrics
As of now, Power BI does not offer built-in functionality to track usage metrics specifically for scorecards, unlike the features available for reports and dashboards. The "View usage metrics" option is primarily designed for traditional reports and dashboards, leaving scorecard usage tracking unsupported. To monitor interactions with your scorecards, consider implementing external tracking mechanisms, such as analyzing audit logs or utilizing third-party analytics tools, to gain insights into user engagement.
For the most current information and potential updates regarding these issues, regularly consult the Power BI documentation and participate in community discussions.

Hi @JayJayBee ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum about the issue you are encountering.
Ensure the reports refresh schedules are in line with the scorecard refresh frequency and make sure all underlying reports are refreshing correctly and have valid credentials. If you are using import mode ensure that the reports are refreshing and thus providing updated data to the scorecard.
for second problem, Embed the Scorecard into a Report .This may allow you to leverage usage metrics at the report level, which might track the scorecard's usage indirectly.
If still facing difficulty in resolving the issue, please feel free to reachout.

HI @v-pagayam-msft ,
Thank you for replying.
I have ensured all above are correct and working fine, all the reports are refreshing and provided the updated data but still not updating the scorecard. Do you believe it is something with fabric refreshing the tables thus Power BI is not detecting a refresh therefore scorecard no refreshing?
For the second problem, perfect thank you i wil give this a go.
JJ
Hi @JayJayBee ,
Thank you for the repsonse.
Confirm that the datasets linked to the scorecard are being explicitly refreshed within Power BI Service. Sometimes, manual intervention or scheduled refreshes are needed for Power BI to recognize the changes in data.
