Scorecard - PBI Service

Hello everyone,

we were taking our first steps with the Scorecard feature in Power BI Service.

After creating a report-connected metric, we just had it running over june, which was great!

The connected-report has a filter tile for the month, which gets updated by someone in our team each month (so on 1st of july someone switched it from june to july).

The Scorecard metric still remebered 'june' as filter for the month and won't change its values.

My question here is:

Is there a way to make a metric in the Scorecard keep in sync with the filters in the underlying report?

What i tried already:

  • Create a simple report which gets filtered via the filter-pane (relative time filter to 'in the last day')
  • Filter data via SQL Query

I think the only thing i haven't tried is, set up an refresh schedule for the underlying dataset of the Scorecard.

(When i tried to, i messed something up and had the start all over from the start...)

If thats not the intended way to use a Scorecard, i really would appreciate some adivce for a use case.

Setting up a new Scorecard (or at least manually refresh all metrics) each month was the only way i was able to make this work - but thats a time consuming task, which is kind of the opposite direction we wanted to go with Power BI.

Best regards & thanks in advance

Chris

Hi @crisc ,

Daily tracking cycles can be created in the scorecard, which means that data and progress are calculated on a daily basis. However, many metrics and indicators require tracking at a different cadence. In these cases, you can change the default tracking period of the indicator via the indicator settings. The tracking period does not affect data refresh.
