Scheduled refresh using Data Virtuality LDW connector

I am attempting to bring a new datasource into a semantic model, which refreshes daily.  The new data source is using Data Virtuality LDW connector.  After publishing the semantic model, I see this message:

When I click "Discover Data Sources", I see this slightly more detailed message.

From what I can see here, there doesn't appear to be any limitations around refresh of Semantic models when using this connector.

  • Did you install the driver/connector on all gateway VMs? Does the gateway service have access to the folder (ie is the connector showing up in the list in the gateway management app)?

Through my ongoing research today, I think I've started to figure out the issue is that all of our existing datasources supported refresh without a gateway service.  This is an ODBC connection which sounds like it requires a gateway which is not currently setup since it wasn't needed for our other sources.

Anything that is not directly visible from the Azure service is considered to be "on-premise"  and requires a gateway.
