Hello community,
I didn't find this information on Microsoft documentation or on this forum.
We have a dataset well configured (Enterprise Gateway OK, Credentials OK) published on Power BI Service (shared capacity) with a scheduled refresh every 4 hours.
This dataset is connected to an SQL server based on Azure. We also created a little development to turn on the Azure machine 15min before our scheduled PBI refresh and 30min after our scheduled PBI refresh, in order to limit its utilization.
So, it is logical that some schedule refresh failed due to the fact that the Azure machine is not turned (Power BI Service can take up to 1 hour after the scheduled hour specified).
We noticed that after X fails attempts, the scheduled refresh option turned off without any human action.
Thank you for your help
I just experienced the same, and for me the number was four (4). So after four failures scheduled refresh is automatically disabled. Would appreciate documentation of this feature.
The following page on troubleshooting refresh has this information documented
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/refresh-troubleshooting-refresh-scenarios
If a scheduled refresh fails four times in a row, Power BI disables the refresh. Address the underlying problem, and then re-enable the scheduled refresh."
Hi @Anonymous,
Unfortunately, I don't have similar environment as yours to test such a scenario. And I didn't encounter this problem before. For this behavior, I would suggest you create a support ticket for further analysis.
Regards,
Yuliana Gu
