We have many Power BI reports deployed in the Power BI Workspace and each report comes with an associated dataset created automatically on publishing the report. The data source for all these reports/datasets is a single Azure Analysis Services which is refreshed daily.
While these reports have always functioned without scheduled refresh, we've recently begun receiving a warning message stating that the scheduled refresh is disabled.
This warning appears when attempting to create, view, or access the Dataset/Semantic Model settings page. However, the reports continue to work correctly due to the live connection to the data source. The warning message won't go away until we manually click on the Refresh button/icon.
The issue is causing concerns to our users as they are seeing this warning randomly and believe the data may be stale.
We are kindly requesting any assistance in resolving this warning.
Thanks!

Afaik, you are right, live connection doesnt require refreshes. It could be a bug that you may need to submit to Microsoft.
That is standard functionality. The Power BI Service will suspend refreshes if no report usage activity has been observed. This is good for your capacity as it does not waste resources.
Use the reports more frequently, or sunset them.
