Scheduled refresh failed in Power BI pro

Hello PBI Community, hope you all are doing good.

I need some clarity regarding Power BI pro and Power BI premium per user.

I have created a dashboard and it is having dataset size of almost 500mb.
When I have published it using Power BI pro and applied scheduled refresh, it gets failed and give an error that you have exceed the limit of 10GB, so either remove unnecessary columns or switch to premium capacity.

So I need to confirm that if I switch to Power BI Premium Per user and then publish that same dashboard which having dataset of 500MB, will that error of exceeding limit be resolved?

Looking forward for some positive responce.

Regards,

Ibad.

Hi there

I would also like to comment that the refreshing of 10GB is for the working set of memory needed to refresh the dataset. This is different from the final PBIX size.

I would suggest looking to see if you could use incremental refresh, using a Star Schema and remove any unwanted columns. By doing those 2 things you should then be able to refresh the dataset in Power BI Pro.

Can you please check it out, According to it Pro User can't access the content of PPU workspace..

Regards,

Ibad

Hi, @Ibad_Khan

Users must have a Premium Per User (PPU) license to access content in a Premium Per User (PPU) workspace or app.

If you want your team mates can access and view it with Power BI Pro, you should publish the report or dashboard with Power BI premium per capacity.

The following table describes who can see which kinds of content with PPU.

You can find more detailed information here Pricing & Product Comparison | Microsoft Power BI

It has mentioned maximum storage as 100TB, hence 100 GB is not for complete storage

100 GB is for your model size.(PBIX)

@ribisht17  thanks for your help.

I need clarity for one more thing that 100gb is for complete storage or for single PBIX dataset in Power BI Premium Per User?

Hi Ibad,

I did research further and found this Solved: Sharing Report Premium per user with Pro Account - Microsoft Power BI Community

Well,  this is coming from the Power BI official community and we can vouch for the same.

Users must have a Premium Per User (PPU) license to access content in a Premium Per User (PPU) workspace or app.

You can grant access to users to the workspace who don’t have a PPU license, but they will receive a message stating they cannot access the content. They'll then be prompted to get trial license, if they are eligible. If they aren’t eligible, they must be assigned a license by their Admin to gain access to the resource.
