Greetings braintrust,
I am hosting a Dashboard on a Workspace, the datasource exists in another tenant.
I am trying to set the auto refresh, but have issues when trying to change the credentials.
I get the below error, and the Authentication method dropdown only contains OAuth2.
Any ideas how I can share this in a seperate tenant and set a refresh?
Thank you.

Hi @RandomDept,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
Based on the error message "The OAuth authentication method isn't supported for this data source", It looks like that the semantic model is connecting to a data source in a different tenant, which introduces authentication limitations. There may be various reasons for that like some data sources do not support OAuth2 authentication for refresh across tenants or there may be some conditional access policies in the source tenant that may be blocking OAuth2 authentication. You can also check if the data source requires authentication through Service Principal rather than OAuth2 as certain enterprise data sources authenticate using Service Principal.
You can check the Supported Authentication Methods for your data sources and you can also cross check if the Power BI tenant has the necessary permissions to access the data source.
I would also take a moment to thank @lbendlin, for actively participating in the community forum and for the solutions you’ve been sharing in the community forum. Your contributions make a real difference.

Dashboards do not refresh. Semantic models refresh. Did you mean Semantic model?
yes, yes I did
