Schedule Refresh

HI I need some help please.

I am trying to refresh a dataset that I have uploaded onto the server but everytime I try to refresh I get this error:

Data source error: Scheduled refresh is disabled because at least one data source is missing credentials. To start the refresh again, go to this dataset's settings page and enter credentials for all data sources. Then reactivate scheduled refresh.

Does anyone have a workaround please.

Chris

Hi @Chris2B

I would suggest making sure that you can refresh the dataset successfully before looking to add visuals?

Hi @Chris2B ,
Anytime you add new data connections to your model, you will have to provide the credentials on your gateway and connections settings and provide the authentication required.
For this follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings on power bi service to the far right (Gear icon)

2. Manage connections and gateways

3. Connections (this will list all of your connections)

4. Click on refresh icon to the right that says 'Status' and if anyone is showing offline, go to next step.

5. Click on three little dots, then settings

6. Under Authentication - select 'Edit credentials' then choose OAuth 2.0

7. Provide your authentications

8. Privacy level - choose Organizational (based on your situations)

9. Save

10. Now go adhead and check the Status to see if that connection comes online.

11. If they show online, you can refresh entire dataset and you should be good.

Let me know how it comes after you follow these steps.

Thanks,

PT

Hi @Chris2B

As it says you need to enter the data source credentials in order for the dataset to refresh.

Hi @GilbertQ,

Thanks for this. I have updated the data source credentials but when I refresh it the report is not updating, if I add new visuals from the Desktop.
