Schedule Refresh for SharePoint connection not working
Hi Anonymous
If the data source in the report is your local file, not the file in the SharePoint online, though you set the schedule refresh for the dataset, it retrieves data from local Excel instead of SharePoint Excel file. If you want to set the schedule refresh to retrieve data from SharePoint Excel, I suggest you to refer to below steps:
1.Upload your excel file to the SharePoint online
2.Create a report in Power BI desktop by getting this file in SharePoint online. Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-use-onedrive-business-links
3.Publish the report to the service and you can set the schedule refresh. Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/refresh-csv-file-onedrive#what-are-the-advantages

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I dont have data source on my local machine and not even in excel also. I am directly connecting to the stakeholder's SharePoint site as they have given me the access to their site. I am connecting to the data in Power BI desktop using following steps:
1) Get data->Sharepoint Online List->link of sharepoint site(https://sitename/sites/ES_GTT/)->OK(by signing into Microsoft Account)
Note: while signing in Windows/Anonymous authentication is not working
2) Published the report to Power BI service and then cliking on Schedule referesh.
Please see the screenshot for your reference the way I am connecting to data.Image 1
Image 2
Please help or else suggest any other way to connect to the datasource. As I have to Referesh this data twice in a day and we currently not in a position to have On-Premise Gateway.
Thanks.
