Schedule Refresh/ Sharepoint Connector

When you append additonal CSV files to the semantic model using the Sharepoint Folder connector, how does Power BI know which CSV files are the new ones to append when it does the schedule refresh? Otherwise it will append the ones that have already been appended in the last refresh? Basically, how does Power BI identify the new CSV files?

  • Power BI doesn't know what you mean by "new" unless you tell it.

Standard procedure is to read ALL the files in the sharepoint folder and to include the file name in the appended output as a column.

Remember that SharePoint is NOT a folding source so Incremental Refresh will not give any performance advantage.
