I was reviewing this article: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/virtual-machines-windows-classic-ps-sql-bi/...
I plan to put SSAS in a Azure VM. So while a BI edition is not offered on Azure, I can use a SQL Server 2014 Standard Azure VM image and install SSAS Tabular following above linked instructions.
Generally on-premises you would require CAL per user to access SSAS (unless you had Enterprise edition).
I assume that each user acessing PowerBI requires a CAL (in addition to the $9.95 PowerBI user cost).
Is this assumption correct?
Do BI CALs have to be renewed yearly?
If so, my expected cost per user(aside from server costs) would be $200/12mo + $9.95/mo == $26.6/mo
