SSAS and SSRS Connectivity with AI Visuals like Smart Narrative Key Influencers
We have all the data in the Cube SSRS And SSAS , the AI visuals dont work as we have high volume of data we need AI visuals to work , please guide us with the way the AI visuals will work and we can show this to our users .
Hi SJain123 ,
The issue you're encountering arises because AI visuals in Power BI, such as Smart Narrative and Key Influencers, are not supported when using live connections to Azure Analysis Services (AAS) or SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS). These visuals require access to the underlying data model for analysis, which isn't possible with live-connected external models. To enable the use of AI visuals, you can consider switching to import mode, allowing Power BI to load and analyze the data internally.Alternatively, you could use a composite model, where key data for AI visuals is imported while maintaining a live connection for the rest. Another option is to extract a relevant subset of your cube data and re-model it within Power BI as an imported table, specifically for use with AI features. These approaches can help you leverage AI visuals while continuing to work with SSAS or SSRS-based data sources.
