SAP Hana connector with data gateway - Missing ODBC

Hi,

I am a newbie at Fabric.

The company just started to use Fabric, based with SAP Hana data.

A data gateway is installed on a dedicated machine. This machine can connect to the local SAP.

So we use the connector "SAP HANA Database" to extract some data. unfortenaltely, an error occurs:

First, I don't understand why an ODBC needs to be set, if we use the Fabric connector dedicated for SAP Hana...

On the SAP platform (link provided in the message error) there is so many different ODBC connectors.

Where you should install that ODBC connector?

And which exact file should I download for a Windows server?

Thanks for your help

Hi @Theo_MS ,
Thank you for the helpful response @lbendlin .
To install that ODBC connector,The ODBC driver should be installed on the machine which running the data gateway. This ensures that the gateway can properly connect to the SAP HANA database.
For the secon one,on the SAP HANA client download page, select the windows version that matches your server’s architecture (32-bit or 64-bit).If you are using SAP HANA 2.x, make sure to download the ODBC Driver for SAP HANA 2.x version.

If still facing difficulty in resolving the issue, please feel free to reachout.

Avoid using the 32bit Version.

First, I don't understand why an ODBC needs to be set, if we use the Fabric connector dedicated for SAP Hana

because behind the scenes the majority of the "dedicated" "native"  connectors are actually SIMBA ODBC.

Note your first error message. It indicates the URL where you can download the required driver.
