SAP BW Application Server Connector for Dataflow: Invalid Credentials

Hi,

I am attempting to create a dataflow in my premium capacity workspace using the SAP BW Application Server connector. I am using my on-premise gateway source connection configured using windows authentication to configure the dataflow, this is already used to complete successful refreshes on other datasets (SNC Partner Name, Library, Client ID etc). The reason for the dataflow is to save on refresh time by pushing the SAP BW data load into a dataflow and using Direct Query within my dataset instead of import. However, why am I receiving "Invalid Credentials" when attempting to create the dataflow? The successful refreshes surely means the account has the correct permissions. I am using the "SNC_LIB_64 environment variable" as the SNC library when attempting to configure the dataflow.

Thanks.

Hi @powerbi_jenhen ,

Could you please check that did your computer install the SAP Netweaver RFC?

If not, you can find it in this link:

Use the SAP Business Warehouse (BW) Connector in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

And follow the operations in it.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks for your reply.

Why would I need to install a file for Power BI Desktop, I am creating the dataflow within the Power BI Service?

Thanks.
