Hi!
Unable to connect: We encountered an error while trying to connect to . Details: "We could not register this data source for any gateway instances within this cluster. Please find more details below about specific errors for each gateway instance."
Invalid connection credentials. | |
Underlying error code: | -2147467259 |
Underlying error message: | The credentials provided for the SapBusinessWarehouse source are invalid. |
What I've tried so far:
- Connection works from the same machine where PBI Gateway is installed via PBI Desktop.
- Connection works from PBI Desktop only when language "EN" is specified under advanced options.
- As the connection works I assumed it is a language problem. I tried to change all regional settings in the gateway machine to "English". I tried both: "English-United Kingdom" "English-United States". Nothing.
- I tried gateway in 2 different machines: W10 and W2019 server. Same story.
How to troubleshoot this?
Best Wishes,
Kaarel.

I reached out to Microsoft support:
"As we discussed in the call, the issue is potentially due to a SAP logon issue, "Select one of the installed languages". When connecting to SAP BW from PBI desktop we have UI to allow specifying language as an option. We do not have this option when adding the data source in the PowerBI.com through manage gateways page. The solution to this can be to eliminate test connection requirement, our product team already aware about this issue, so they are planning to fix this from Power BI side as well. For now, as workaround please check for zcsa/installed_languages parameter, set this to English and restart. So please go to SAP website to get more info on the issue."
- Zcsa/installed_languages to english didn't work
- Ignoring "test" dataset connection in PowerBI.com worked. When creating SAP BW data source in PowerBI.com, choose to ignore "test connection" and then upload PowerBI Desktop report (where langage property was properly set). Report recognizes the data source and the refresh works!
Hope it helps someone...
Hi @kaarel
I cannot reproduce the same issue.I would suggest you update the version and select the supported language to try again. If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".
