Runaway Scheduled Refresh

I have a report that resides on OneDrive and scheduled for refresh once daily.  Once the refresh is initiated at the scheduled time it continually refreshes every 10-15 minutes until I manually turn off the scheduled refresh feature.  Even with scheduled refresh turned off a refresh is "kicked off" at the scheduled time on the next day requiring yet another manual intervention to stop the runaway refresh.  What's the problem?

I thought there was a max of 8 refreshes allowed per day? I'd love to have it refresh every 15 minutes!!

You'd love a runaway refresh against an on-prem database table that only refreshes once a day?  To me (and, my DBA) that's wasted processing time/resources!  What is Microsoft going to do to fix this issue?

Yes MS needs to fix a lot of the refresh features ASAP!!!
