Row level security for more than 1000 users

Hi,

We need to add more than 1000 users in manage permission, can anyone suggest a way to do it.

Basically we have 300 clients, which can have subclients , but each client should see its own/parent client data(forsubcllients)

 

So count of users will cross 1000 for sure.

Please guide as in how should we achieve this, we cannot filter at database level, as it will cause us to create 300 dashboards and 300 different set of views(not a good workaround), 

 

We are using role based in desktop, we have use table which sets [UserPrincipalName] = UserPrincipalName(), do i need to add all users in manager permission?If yes, please suggest if users are more than 1000.

    Hi Anonymous,

     

    For RLS part, I'd like to suggest you refer to GilbertQ 's thread and blog to know how to setting dynamic RLS based on username.

    RLS with UserName()

     

    >>If yes, please suggest if users are more than 1000.

    Current power bi allow to assign RLS role to security group, I think you can add these users to security group and assign dynamic RLS role to this group. It should more simple than manually assign role to each users.

      Thanks alot for your response.

      It would be a great help if you can share any post or any link or if you can help anyway which guides me to create security groups in power bi.

      Post that you shared shows role creation in power bi.

       

      I need to create security groups, need help in how that can be created in power bi as i am new to power bi, need help in where and how can i do this?
