Hi all,
I have a dashboard with a linechart that works fine on PBI desktop. However, when I publish the dashboard to my workspace on PBI service, the colours seem to reverse their order resulting in the wrong colour being next to the items from my legend.
Here is what it looks like in PBI desktop, Blueprints is 'blue' as the name would suggest:
And here is what it looks like on PBI service, as you can see the colours have been reversed in the tooltip.
I do not have this issue for any other of my linecharts. Would anyone know how I could solve this?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Good catch ! For those out there with the same problem :
- Convert visual to Stacked Column Chart
- Visual Format Settings > Columns > Colors > Reversed column order OFF
- Convert back to Line/Stacked Area Plot
That seems like a bug, but the first thing I would do is turn on Modern Tooltips for that report. That is getting the focus of development now and might fix the issue. If it doesn't, then you should open a support ticket with Microsoft.
You can turn that on in the Report settings in both Desktop and the service.
DAX is for Analysis. Power Query is for Data Modeling

MCSA: BI ReportingI have the same bug. Bug report opened here : https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Issues/Issue-Tooltip-of-chart-is-reversed-and-false-in-Pow...
I actually just found a a way to fix my issue. When I set the visual from a line chart, to a stacked column chart, I noticed that the setting for 'Reversed column order' was still on. I made sure to turn it off, and after setting the visual back to a line chart, the problem was fixed.
Good catch ! For those out there with the same problem :
- Convert visual to Stacked Column Chart
- Visual Format Settings > Columns > Colors > Reversed column order OFF
- Convert back to Line/Stacked Area Plot
