Retrive default Usage metrics report

Hi , I have updated the default usage metrics report. is there a way to retrive the default usage metrics report. I tried deleting the report and generating the usage metrics report again but still ...

    Thanks for all the responses. In my case i had to reach out to power bi admin team . they were able to delete and recreate the original usage metrics report.

When you modify the default usage metrics report in Power BI, the changes are saved, and even if you delete and regenerate the report, Power BI will keep showing the modified version. Unfortunately, there's no direct "reset" option to revert to the original, default usage metrics report once it's been modified. However, there are some steps you can take to try to restore the default usage metrics report:

### Steps to Restore the Default Usage Metrics Report:

1. **Create a New Workspace (Recommended)**
- If you're okay with creating a new workspace, this can be a simple solution. Move your reports to a new workspace without copying the customized usage metrics report.
- When you generate the usage metrics report in the new workspace, it should display the default version as long as no modifications are made.

2. **Copy Usage Metrics to a Separate Report**
- Before making any customizations to the default usage metrics report in the future, it’s a good practice to **copy it to a separate report**. This way, you can customize the copied report and keep the default usage metrics intact for reference.

3. **Generate Usage Metrics in Power BI Service**
- If you haven’t done so already, try generating the report directly from the Power BI Service. Sometimes, regenerating it in the online environment can restore the default report view.

4. **Contact Power BI Support**
- If none of the above solutions work, you may need to contact Power BI Support to reset the usage metrics report for your workspace. Explain that you want to restore the original default metrics report, and they might be able to assist you in clearing out the modified version.

5. **Use the Power BI API (Advanced)**
- Power BI’s REST API can retrieve detailed metrics data, so you could consider creating a custom usage metrics report from scratch using API data. This can serve as an alternative if you need a customized metrics report that functions separately from the default.

Unfortunately, Power BI does not currently offer a "reset to default" function for usage metrics reports. Following one of the steps above should help you regain access to the unmodified, default usage metrics report.
