Restricting User-Level Access in Power BI Workspace and Subfolders
- 1 year ago
Hi. Folders at power bi are a preview feature. For now, they only help organizing content. Folders can't handle permission distribution. You can't use them as a way of building rules of sharing with people. If something change it will be shown in the following link:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/get-started/workspaces-folders
The way of working with users is the same as always. When you share workspace they can see it all and it's recommended for those who can edit/develop inside the workspace, the whole workspace and folders. Then you can share with viewers picking exactly the things you want as rules using Power Bi App Audiences:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-create-distribute-apps
I hope that helps,
