Restricting Impact of Reset Filters, Slicers, and Other Data View Changes Button on Specific Visuals

Hi Community,

I am looking for a solution to prevent the "Reset Filters, Slicers, and Other Data View Changes" button in Power BI Service from affecting certain visuals on a report page. Is there a way to achieve this while allowing the reset functionality for other visuals?

Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Hi @AmanShaikh ,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Instead of using reset button, you can create a custom reset button using Bookmarks to control which filters and slicers get reset as a workaround.

Steps to Implement:

  1. Configure your report page with the desired filters and slicers.
  2. Navigate to View → Bookmarks and create a new bookmark.
  3. Ensure that only the specific filters/slicers you want to reset are included in the bookmark settings.
  4. Add a button and link it to the bookmark, allowing users to reset only selected elements while keeping others unchanged.

Hi @AmanShaikh ,

No, you cannot modify the built-in Reset Filters button to exclude specific visuals. The only way to have selective reset functionality is to use a custom button with Bookmarks (which I mentioned earlier) or restrict interactions between slicers and visuals.
Since this feature would be highly useful, I recommend posting this suggestion in the Power BI Ideas Forum:

Hi @v-menakakota I don’t want to create an additional button in the UI. Will the reset button provided in Power BI Service remain as it is? I want to modify its behavior so that it does not interact with certain visuals, if possible.
