Rest API read only to dataset

Is there a way to give someone access to Rest API but no workspace access?

I just want the user to be able to do rest api on a particular report/dataset and that person has build access on top of the datset.

Just don't want them to edit anything in the workspace, only want them to query the dataset via rest api.

Is there any other way to achieve this without giving full Contributor or Admin level access to the workspace?

Will just read only to workspace access allow them to use rest api?

Figured out to query the dataset you need to have member or admin priviliges on the workspace:

Hi , @acbg

Based on my understanding on the "Rest API" feature in the Power BI service, it used the AAD token to access the Power BI content and make the operations based on the user account who generate the AAD token, this means that the user can only make the operations and read the data that they have access to in this account in the Power BI service, so if you want to give the users access to have build access on top of the datset without giving full Contributor or Admin level access to the workspace, you can consider directly give the user access a separate access to the dataset in the "Manage permission":

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
