Request for Guidance on Power BI Real-Time Data Synchronization
Hello, Team!
I would appreciate it if someone could guide me on how to achieve real-time data synchronization in Power BI.
Currently, I am using DirectQuery to connect to a SQL database. However, this setup works inconsistently — sometimes the data sync stops automatically. Even when I enable data refresh on the semantic model, it does not consistently pull real-time data from SQL into Power BI.
Is there a reliable method to ensure real-time data synchronization from SQL to Power BI?

With direct query, the visuals update only as you interact with them. You can setup an automatic page refresh https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-automatic-page-refresh?wt.mc_id=MVP_447534
However, intervals lesser than 30 minutes require a premium capacity.

You're definitely on the right path with DirectQuery it's a good option for working with near real-time data, but it's important to know how it behaves. As danextian , DirectQuery doesn't refresh continuously on its own. It only pulls fresh data when a user interacts with the report or if you've set up automatic page refresh (APR). APR can help keep your visuals updated at regular intervals, but if you need refresh rates faster than every 30 minutes, your report needs to be hosted in a Premium or Fabric capacity workspace.
