Reports are slow to use

Has anyone else been having problems lately with the Power BI service loading some reports very slowly?  Yesterday I had two reports that, when clicking on a filter (slicer), would take several minutes to reload the data based on the filter results.  It went away but today has come back again.  Yesterday I had dataset errors that stated there was an "internal service error".  Today I have a few dataset errors that say "the gateway operation has been canceled explicitly by the user or from a timeout".

This is becoming a nuisance for our users.  I have already restarted the gateway on the server it is hosted on.  These datasets all connect to an internal MS SQL Server (2012).  I also updated the gateway earlier this month.  This just started happening yesterday.

Hi @jderekc,

Does the schedule refresh in PBI Service always fail or intermittently? Does this problem occur if you manually refresh the dataset instead of schedule refresh? Can you refresh the dataset successfully in PBI Desktop? If yes, how long will it take to complete the refresh?

If possible, please try to remove this dataset on PBI Service and republish it to check whether issue persists. Besides, a similar issue has been reported internally. CRI: 47607387
