You might have to wait for the Nov version of the On-Premise Gateway to have the same version of the Mashup Engine as the Nov version of Power BI Desktop.

    Unfortunately upgrading to the November 2019 version of the on-premise gateway doesn't appear to have fully corrected the issue.  Although I am now getting a different error: 

     

    Underlying error message:We cannot convert the value "[Function]" to type Function.
    DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingHResult:-2147467259
    Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Reason:Expression.Error

     

    I read here that this particular error message may be an issue with data source permissions, but setting everything to "Organizational" doesn't appear to have fixed it either.

    Thanks for the feedback GilbertQ.  I'll wait for the November Gateway release and give it a shot.
