Report usage metric - what is "total reports in organization"?

Hi,

In a report usage metric, what is "total reports in organization"? See the orage box in the below screenshot. Does it mean the total reports in a tenant? Thank you.

Hey @Anonymous  - It will only count the reports in the tennat in which your current report is in.

If I look under Power BI Admin portal, Usage metrics I see very different numbers... examples from my environment below.

  • Usage metrics (Admin portal) shows "Number of User Reports" as 565.
  • (old) Usage Metrics Report shows "Total Reports in Organization" as 1517 (total views rank = 29).
  • (new) Usage Metrics report shows "Rank 40 across 199 reports in the organization".

I assume the admin portal also include reports from personal workspaces.

From using the official APIs to list out all reports from non-personal workspaces I know of 461 reports.

I find it confusing that different views in Power BI can't even agree on how many 'real' reports exist... Can anyone explain where the 1517 (or 199) might originate from?  What am I missing?

Thank you

Did you got the reason behind how that 1517 (or 199) might originate from?

@gauthamboppana So if a company has two tenants, the number of "Total in Organization" are the total report counts of the 2 tenants?
