Hi All,
I am currently stuck with an issue in Power BI service wherein:
Changing selection of any other parameter resets date parameters' user selection to its default value. I have searched around alot but failed to find any solution. The rootcause seems to be the parameter dependency which is anyhow created itself.
Example: There are 4 parameters : Product, Date Range From, Date Range To and Assigned To. All placed one after the other vertically in respective manner.
Now, user has selected some values in respective parameters but as soon as user makes any change then Date parmeter goes back to its default irrespective of what has user selected for it i.e.
'Date Range From:' resets to its default lets say to Current Month's First day
'Date Range To:' resets to lets say to Today()
This seems working fine when i run the report in Power BI Report Builder but fails when i run this report in PowerBI Service. Can anyone please help on this issue please.
Hi @SimG ,
I have the same problem. I think we must create an issue https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Issues/ct-p/PBI_Comm_Issues
Best regards!

Hi @Anonymous ,
The problem is not yet solved. I have alreday replied to your suggested solution.
Thanks & Regards.
Hi @SimG ,
This may be related to the way the Power BI service handles parameter dependencies and refreshes. When publishing to a Power BI service, the dynamic nature of the service may trigger a reset of dependent parameters when any changes occur.
You can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Hi, Anonymous
This article Edit parameter settings in the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn is not related to parameters in paginated reports.
The problem, described by @SimG is related to paginated reports, not to pbix reports
Hi @Anonymous ,
Thanks for giving a thought on this issue. Actually the report i am working is a paginated report and default values work fine when i run report on Power BI Report Builder but on Power BI Service the user selection in Date Parameters is overwritten by its default value on change of other parameter. I tried the thing you suggested in 1st point and i wonder i don't see any tab for 'Data Set' as mentioned in the link Edit parameter settings in the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
Also, there is nothing in'Semantic Models' tab.
I am not sure how can i dynamically manage default values of date parameters in Power BI Report builder so that user selection is also retained when any parameter changes in Power BI Service as well.
Thanks & regards.
