Report metrics Access

Hi,

I have established Amazon Athena as my primary data source and successfully connected it to Power BI Desktop. Subsequently, I developed and published a report.

Within Amazon Athena, specific filters have been strategically implemented to restrict data at both the row and column levels, tailoring access for designated users. Now, the imperative is to seamlessly extend this security framework to users accessing the report or dashboard through Power BI Service.

Is this possible to restrict the data in the PowerBI service report as per the filters implemented on the Athena end?
How can we do this?

    Hi mazeed92 ,

    It doesn't seem like it's possible to inherit the security framework created in Amazon Athena into Power BI at the moment.

    You can set up RLS on Power BI to restrict access to specific people , the DAX expression of rls can be a filter condition in Amazon Athena

      Hi Xianda,

      Is there any possible way to restrict the column in the visuals?

        Hi mazeed92 ,

        Yes , you can use OLS in power BI , but you should use external tools such as Tabular Editor because you can't create OLS definitions natively in Power BI Desktop.
