We use report builder reports quite a bit but as of a month or so ago, the reports are not rendering properly in the browser in powerbi.com anymore. The issue occurs in Edge and Chrome.
The report renders fine when we test in Report Builder and when you export the rendered report from powerbi.com to word or PDF it looks fine. It's just when you view it in the browser in powerbi.com, the lines of text of the report are rendered on top of each other on the web page so it is unreadable. We are on version 15.7.1813.16 of report builder
Does anyone else have this issue?
It doesn't seem to occur for report builder reports which are rendered inside power bi reports
Solved! Go to Solution.
SOLVED - it turned out to be the LineHeight setting in the reports. We had used this setting in some reports and hardcoded it to 1pt. Apparently this setting only impacts the HTML rendering, which explains why the problem was only apparent in the browser. So the solution is to blank out the setting ie remove the 1pt

Hi @Felix4356 - Since the reports look fine in Report Builder and when exported, but not in the browser, this suggests a rendering issue specific to the HTML or browser rendering engine used in PowerBI.com.Ensure the fonts used in your report are standard web-safe fonts or embedded in the report design.Use rectangles or containers around text elements to help control layout behavior (grouping elements can prevent rendering inconsistencies in HTML).
Your version of Report Builder (15.7.1813.16) might not fully align with recent updates to PowerBI.com. Ensure you're using the latest version of Report Builder and consider updating your report server if applicable.
PowerBI.com relies on browser rendering engines (like Chromium for Chrome and Edge). Rendering discrepancies often happen due to updates in browser engines. Clearing your browser cache or testing the report in an incognito window could help. If that doesn't work, try switching to another browser temporarily to see if the issue persists.
