Report bug? Premium per Capacity vs Pro workspace

Hi everyone,

Our company have a Premium per capacity subscription, and some of the employees have Pro license. On the last 3 weeks we experienced some differences in our riports. Some of them work fine, but some are not.

If we publish all our report on Pro workspace, everything is fine (in Power BI Desktop they work fine), but when we try them on Premium capacity, to share with other teams, than the visualisations are not working properly (When i change the type of storage to Pro it works fine again). The interesting part is, that half of the visualisations work properly even on the Premium capacity workspace.

We use a relative month/week/day filter, with "custom" M code (which is based on now() function). All the date which we want to use, came from one table.

What we try so far:

- Create new workspace (Premium per capacity), and upload the data.

- Recreate the problematic visualisations / pages.

- Change the M code.

Did you experience something similar. Or can someone give any advice what can cause this kind of problem?

Many thanks in advance

Tamás

  • Hi, tungor

If you are using relative date filter, There is indeed an issue about 'Relative date filter does not work on Premium but works on Shared capacity and Desktop'. So it can only be placed in shared capacity for the time being.

And this issue has been submitted internally. Internal ICM ID:278394986 Please be patient to wait for fixing. If there is any news, I will update it here.

    Hi, tungor

What do you mean by ‘not work properly’? Can you show the error message?

    In addition:

When you publish report to PPU capacity, the pro licence users can't see the content due to license restrictions.

PPU users can share and use content with different PPU capacities or pro capacities, Pro users can only share and use the content of pro cacpacities.

Did I answer your question ? Please mark my reply as solution. Thank you very much.
If not, please feel free to ask me.

      Hi, v-janeyg-msft

      Thanks for the reply.
So, the problem is, that if i publish the reports on a premium per capacity storage, then a date slicer (which is a relative date filter with custom M code) don't filter every visualizations, just half of them. If I publish the same report on a pro storage, every visualizations work fine. We use the latest desktop app (2.100.785.0 64-bit (2021. december)).

We create backup every week from teh PBI file, we tried to restore some of them, but (on a premium capacity storage) everthing is the same.

First, in the desktop app, everything fine:

On the 2nd screenshot you can see the same report, when we upload to premium capacity storage:

And the 3rd, when I change the storage type to Pro:

We also checked the interactions of the slicer:

      Thanks,

      Tamás
