Hi All,
We are currently licensed RS (Report server) through SQL Enterprise edition. We understand the limitations that are part of RS hence we are planning to upgrade to PBI Premium. I have a few queries regarding this.
1. I can subscribe to reports and get alerts from PBI service using the pro license, but using premium will all users inside the org be able to receive alerts and mails even if they are not pro users. If the answer is no to this question, can users with pro license assign the subscription to non pro users.
2. I was able to find articles for differences between PBIRS and PBI Pro and PBI Pro and PBI Premium, but nowehere about PBIRS licenses through SQLEE and Premium. If there is no difference in RS between licenses, what are the additional features that I get out of premium? (Pointing out to articles will also be enough)
3. If we buy a premium license, will we have access to workspaces, apps and content packs for all users in our org similiar to purchasing individual pro licenses or is there any restriction?
I know this is a long post, any help would be much appreciated.
1. yes - any user in a Premium environment can subscribe as long as they have access to the report through the published app. No Pro license required.
2. as above - Premium means report users do not need a Pro license.
3. No restrictions on workspace creation (unless your tenant admin puts these in). Content packs are a thing of the past, not supported any more.
