Report Could Not Access the Data Source - Warning (SSAS Data Source)

We have recently been experiencing an intermittent error with a report in one of our PBI Workspaces.  The error is the standard:  "This Report couldn't access the data source. Contact the author to have it fixed".  Each of the visualizations within the report show the message:  "Can't display the visual. See Details"  This behavior happens for ALL individuals that access the report.  The report uses a Gateway data source that is associated with a SSAS Tabular Cube.  To resolve the issue we reprocess the SSAS Tabular Cube from the SSAS Server (no changes are made in Power BI).  Upon completion of the reprocesses of the cube, the report works correctly.

Does anyone have any insight as to the root cause of this issue and how to prevent it?

Hi @kevinfranck

What does it say when you click on See Details?

it would appear to me that there is some change made to the SSAS server, and due to the reprocessing it fixes the issue?

Thanks for the reply.  There is new data that is added every couple of days to the Tabular Cube but the structure of the cube is not changed.  Most recently the FULL reprocessing of the Tabular Cube is not fully resolving the PBI Reports that are built off of the dataset.  This morning when I opened one of the reports which has a page for each of the top customers i received the same error message as shown in the initial post.  That resolved the all of the pages in the report except two of them.  I then put the report in EDIT mode, selected the Refresh action and the data was pulled in for that page as well as the other page that displayed "Can't display the visual. See Details" message.  Could this have anything to do with available capacity?  We have the A1 Node for Power BI Embedded.

Hi @Kevin , did you end up finding a solution? We are having the issue and it's been on and off for a few months now. Restarting our SSAS server works, although sometimes we need to reboot a few times. Thanks!
