Report Access in PowerBi server

I have published my report to the MyWorkspace and share access to colleagues, while they cannot access to the report, and there is error message to tell them to upgrade the License.  They can access to other people's report, except mine, so strange, is there any specific setting that I need to do for them to see the report?

Hi @yj7220 ,

There are three kinds of Power BI per-user licenses: Fabric (Free), Power BI Pro, and Power BI Premium Per User (PPU).  The other type of license is a Premium capacity-based license. PPU and Pro users with access to a Power BI Premium, Fabric F64 or greater capacity-based license, can create content in workspaces that are assigned to Premium capacity. PPU and Pro users can then grant colleagues, including free users, access to those Premium workspaces.

More detailed information on licences can be found in the table below.

It is also recommended that you place the content you want to share in your workspace, not my workspace.

  • Power BI My workspace: This is a personal workspace that any Power BI customer can use to work with their own data. My workspace is only accessible by you. My Workspace allows you to share dashboards and reports. You’ll need to work in a workspace if you want to collaborate on dashboards and reports, or if you want to construct an app.
  • Power BI workspaces: These are used to share and collaborate on content with teammates. Work on dashboards, reports, spreadsheets, and datasets with colleagues by adding them to your workspaces.

More detailed information can be found in the documentation:

Manage workspaces - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn

Hi @yj7220

What is the license you are using? And how are you sharing your report with your co-workers?

Regards

Miguel Félix
