Hi!
When I rename a column in a dataset by rightclicking:
all reports build from that dataset that use the column will show an error:
is there a workaroud for this? Its to much work to go into each report and make the changes there, it would be so much easier to do it in the dataset that all reports are build from. is it possible?
Thanks

@Johan-MTM Hello,
you can go to transform data and then applied step to remove rename colomn step then close and apply to see the changes.
option 2- if name has been change in dataset then you can update column in name in change type. it will look like this.
Thanks
Harish M.

Hi all,
@HarishKM kindly helped me over a Teams-call. Turns out its working as intended. I have a live reports, so if i change the name of a table in the base report I have to chnage it manually in my other reports.

Hi,
Than you for you sugestion but it didn't help.
Here is what I did:
I opened this dataset that all my reports are based from:
I changed media_typ to Medietyp in Transform data, and save/apply:
If i then open one of the reports (after refresh is done):
The tablename is changed but I get the same error:
So the reports that are based on this dataset and uses Medietyp/media_type now shows the error.
Any ideas?
@Johan-MTM Hello,
Can you try to investigate each applied step in power query to check where were you getting error.
Thanks
Harish M
Thank you! I will try this when I'm back at work after the weekend!
Hi,
Maybe this should have been posted in Desktop section. Anyway, I've search other post and I just would like a confirmation that it's not possible to make a change in the dataset and have all reports build from that dataset automatically have the same changes done? Is it only possible with a 3rd party application?
