Remove users ability to view tables inside a Dataset in Data Hub?

Hello all,

We have been rolling out reports on Power BI Service and just recently we noticed that users were able to view the data set on Data Hub, we thought it was fine since we just give them Read-only access, but we found out that users can enter the dataset and create reports on tables that aren't connected to RLS directly resulting in the viewing of sensitive information.

In the picture above, I can see PMS Users Dashboard 1.1 | Dataset, this dataset has been shared with me with Read Only access. but I was still able to view all tables inside and create a new report.

Is there any way to hide the Data Hub? or at least make our datasets more secure?

We have solved it internally,

When sharing reports via a link we have set some of them with Write, Build, and Reshare. The link which can be accessed by anyone in the organization automatically gives the above privileges to users within our organization to the dataset.

The fix was simply removing the build and/or reshare from the link. once that is done I was not able to build/view the dataset column values nor was I able to create a report.

Hope this helps someone, Cheers 🍻!
